As professional MN Realtors, we are given access to NorthstarMLS. This is the holy grail of all “on market” real estate listings in the state of MN. This platform has the most current and accurate property info. Zillow is a real estate brokerage, and like other brokerage sites, it relies on the information from NorthstarMLS and does not always update quickly.
- When selling a property in MN with a licensed Realtor on the MLS, it is not a requirement that it be advertised on 3rd party applications. Sellers are legally able to opt-out of advertising their listing on 3rd party sites if they so choose. This means that there are many times more listings on the MLS.
- NorthstarMLS offers a variety of more specific search fields to search for properties (versus Zillow.) We can customize and tailor a search for you better than with Zillow.
- Zillow sells its leads to agents. This means there is a possibility of phone calls from other agents with other brokerages, inside sales agents calling, etc. Searching with us as your Realtors on MLS gives you privacy, no solicitation calls, and an immediate notification when listings are put on in the “coming soon” status, go live on the market, or listing price has changed, etc.
